Wallington High Street and nearby Carshalton High Street, which is steeped in local heritage - both offer a good selection of shops, coffee bars and local pubs.  

The local area has excellent parks including Beddington Park, 58 hectares, originating in the 14th century. Carshalton ponds, the river Wandle with plenty of walks and cycle routes.

If you enjoy walks in the countryside then Box Hill is a 30-minute drive or, 46 minutes by train. Box Hill is the perfect place to discover and explore the Surrey Hills, as part of the North Downs, Box Hill has amazing views across the surrounding countryside. Stunning walks, cycling and hiking. Also nearby is Headley Heath, Denbies Hillside, Polesden Lacey, Holmwood Common, Bookham Commons, Leith Hill, Reigate Hill and Gatton Park.  

 Shops:

Coming out of the house take a left down the road and right at the end, you have a Turkish supermarket on the right hand side bottom of the station approach and Sainsburys on the opposite side. If you continue up the high street we have Lidl, Tesco and a big Sainsburys.

There is a launderette on Manor Road and also on Stafford Road and a dry cleaners in Ross Parade and on Wallington High Street.

Restaurants and Pubs:

Breakfast café, lunch and evening meals – need to book – Ginger Frog, top of high street on left hand side.  

If you like Thai food the is Thai bonanza, small family restaurant. Up the high street and turn right at the Ross Parade, about 6 minute walk, need to book.   

The Dukes Head is about 10 minute walk, as you go down Grosvenor Road take a left at the main road and straight down, pub on left had side. Outside space, great food and hotet.   

The Greyhound, again outside space, great food and views over Carshalton Village Ponds. About a 15 minute walk.   

The Sun another lovely pub, great for Sunday Lunch, about 15 minutes walk.  

The Hope – a fine place for a dink and a chat 5 times CAMRA Greater London Pub of the Year.

Hampton Court, you can take a train from Wallington to Clapham Junction and then change for East Molesly for your visit to Hampton Court, walks along the Thames – beatiful day out

East Croydon is about 10 mintes in an Uber. East Croydon is the fast train to London Victoria or London Bridge – 15 minute on the fast train. Also direct line to Gatwick and Brighton. Also, if you have a late night night in town your easiest route home maybe to get the fast train to East Croydon and grab a black cab or Uber to the house which takes about 10 minutes.

The studio is part of a family house with its own entrance and parking on front drive.  The family have two dogs in the main house so you may hear them from time to time.
