A five bedroom Victorian farmhouse on the edge of Exmoor National Park surrounded by its own gardens with exceptional unspoilt southerly views over the Brendon Hills. Haddon Hill and Wimbleball lake are very close. Bampton 5 miles away. Minehead, Tiverton and Dulverton are within 30 minutes, Taunton 35 minutes.

The house has been renovated over the last 20 years by its architect owner, who also redeveloped a further three houses on the property complex which are let or owner occupied (please note the farmhouse has a two bedroom wing/ adjoined cottage which is currently let to tenants). It is fantastic base for walks and expeditions around Exmoor. The house will sleep 10 people, has 3 bathrooms and a ground floor WC, a large farmhouse kitchen and double size (30’) sitting room. It is south facing so the terrace outside is a wonderful spot for sitting out and enjoying a meal or a glass of wine.

It has all the modern facilities you would expect – fibre wifi, oil central heating, an open fireplace, a woodburner, an Everhot and an electric hob, space for dishwasher, washing machine. The two acre garden has a games area lawn, a lower lawn for barbeques as well as a terrace pergola for the very hot days, all set in farmland.

The house is being let unfurnished with no white goods. There are however a few pieces of furniture which are too large to move and for the use of tenants – a dresser and a large table in the kitchen, 2 bookcases in the sitting room, and a linen cupboard on the top landing.

Accessibility

Car parking next to front door. Wheelchair access easy, but no bedrooms available on ground floor. Staircase is wide and easy to navigate however.

Outside

The house is set amongst its gardens and woodland. The gardens consist of a south facing terrace, 2 lawns and a games field.

There is also wild wooded garden with a pond.

Travel

This is a rural area and a car is essential to get around. The closest stations are at Taunton (19 miles) and Tiverton Parkway (13 miles) – both with direct trains to London Paddington in 2 hours.
