During the pandemic, the government's advice is to only move house if you really need to.  As a healthcare worker, I thoroughly respect this guidance and the social distancing measures that the government has developed.  They are essential to support reduced spread of the virus and therefore the impact upon the nation's health.

We do recognise that some people do need to move home in the immediate future (for example due to house sales, end of current contract, health reasons, relocation etc) and, with some careful consideration, we have placed the property on the market for rent.  However, the following mitigating actions are in place:

We ask that you give consideration as to whether you truly need to move right now. 

If you do need to move then we offer two options for viewings:

1.  Facetime (or similar) viewings at a pre-agreed time.  We will conduct a virtual tour of the property and answer any questions or focus on any area of the house that you want to.  

2.  In person viewings with the following restrictions:

  • One family at a time.  Please keep the number of attendees as low as you can however I do appreciate it is important for immediate family members to see the house.
  • The house is unoccupied and will have been thoroughly cleaned and aired before viewings.  It will have been vacated for 3 days before viewings commence.  
  • We will provide a pair of new disposable rubber gloves (adult size) for anyone who attends.  We have not been able to obtain alcohol rub, face masks or child sized gloves.  Admission to the property will be dependent on applicants wearing gloves or, for anyone with a latex allergy, applying their own alcohol rub immediately before entering the property.
  • Anyone with symptoms of coronavirus (cough, sneezes, fever, aches, headache, reduced sense of taste or smell) must not attend the viewing.  If anyone does attend with these symptoms then admission will not be allowed and any application will be rejected.  We are currently not showing symptoms but will cancel if these develop.
  • We will not enter the property with you - you'll be free to explore the property on your own however any discussions will be held outside of the property at a distance of at least two metres.
  • Contracts and referencing will be undertaken remotely/online using Openrent's RentNow function. 

Whilst these arrangements may seem stringent this reflects the very serious situation across the country.  It also reflects the considered and responsible approach that we apply to being a landlord in general, not just in relation to the current pandemic.
