This winter-let offers the rare opportunity to spend a winter away from it all, in one of the UK's most beautiful, unspoilt settings. Ideal for those who want to re-locate to Devon and seek a scenic, temporary base while looking for a new home or for those who wish for a comfortable retreat in nature, while within walking distance of two picture-postcard, beautiful Devon villages and three excellent pubs!
Coastguards Cottage is a very charming, well-appointed former coastguards cottage set in one of Britain's most beautiful and unspoilt spots! The cottage is a rare treat for walkers, sea-life-lovers and nature lovers, for those with a 'spirit of adventure' as well as for those who simply like to relax and 'get away from it all'. The cottage is set amongst National Trust countryside, within an Area Of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and located directly on the legendary South West coast path. It is 1.7 miles away from the picturesque waterside villages of Noss Mayo and Newton Ferrers, where you can choose between three excellent local pubs. The cottage features truly stunning sea views to the front and glorious river views to the back. It is located only 10 mins walk away from Cellars, the nearest, secluded, tidal beach. Coastguards Cottage features a lovely rear garden with several seating areas. The cottage is accessible via a partially asphalted, 1.7 mile long single track road with passing places, which leads you through a beautiful coastal forest (this road is a bit adventurous, as it is a little narrow and can be muddy in wet weather, but it can be driven in any car). The cottage is part of three adjacent coastguards cottages, which were built around 1925 and were used as a fully functioning coastguards station until the 1980s.
Coastguards has recently been re-decorated and features three bedrooms - 2 with stunning sea views, one with river and garden view; it offers a cosy snug with a wood burner and a large conservatory/living room as well as a large dining room/kitchen and two bathrooms (1 en suite); there is a lovely rear garden with summer house and a small front garden with off 'road' parking for up to three cars. It is fully equipped with all mod cons as well as fully furnished;
