Great little house in the South East, about a 10 minute walk from Peckham Rye Station. The House: A three bedroom house on Peckham Hill Street with the rarest of all luxuries in central London - a garden, which is perfect for BBQs in the summer. There is a shared living room with 2 sofas and TV, and a separate kitchen with fridge, washer, oven/hob and lots of storage. The room itself is a decent size double room, and looks out onto the back garden (nice and quiet). There is a built-in wardrobe and additional storage in a cupboard on the landing. The fittings aren't brand spanking new but for the rent, it is a steal. Bills come to around £85 a month on average. The landlady is lovely. Just drop her a line every now and again to let her know you're taking care of the property. Your Roommates: Nadine and Mike. Great people. Very easy going and very sociable. You will bond over Sky Box Sets, good cooking and a glass of wine or beer to go with either of the above. Nadine works in development and events. She also plays softball. Mike manages pubs and restaurants and has excellent knowledge of good food and drink. If you're lucky, he'll do pasta Mondays and transport you to Naples in the process. In the interest of full disclosure, Mike is a Manchester City fan... Both are looking for someone fairly relaxed to come into the house but who do not want regular (Email Removed After Let) : Zone 2. Peckham Rye is the nearest station but buses are where it is at in Peckham. They go everywhere. The 63 stops outside the door in both directions. It goes north to Kings Cross via Elephant and Castle (Northern and Bakerloo lines in about 10/15 minutes), Southwark (Jubilee line), Blackfriars and Farringdon. Southbound it goes to Honor Oak via Peckham Rye station. Other notable routes include 345 via Brixton and Clapham, 37 to Putney and 36 to Kennington/Oval, all of which leave from the bus station 5 minutes away. The Old Kent Road is also close and offers further travel options to central London, and within the South East including the 21 to the City. The Area: The area is great. There's an awesome library, tons of shops including both supermarkets and independent grocers/Asian supermarkets/fishmongers/butchers whichever suits you, and Burgess Park (a great park) is a 5 minute walk away down the Surrey Canal path which has tennis courts and a BMX track. Peckham Rye itself boasts a nice variety of pubs, hipster-esque bars, restaurants, cafes and the Bussey Building. East Dulwich is also round the corner. Looking forward to hearing from you :)
