Brixton has some of London’s finest live music venues in the Academy and the Electric and the Ritzy is a one of London’s best cinemas (and increasingly used for the Premieres of independent films)
Brixton Village and Market Row continue to go from strength to strength as the go-to destination in South London for budget eating from around the world. Just opened is the Pop Brixton container village giving even more eating options. Of course when you want to cook at home the markets are also a great source for interesting and fresh raw ingredients.
For green space the wonderful Brockwell Park with a Lido and views over London are just 15 minutes stroll through the back streets.
When you do have to leave for the rest of London the tube and train stations are just a couple of minutes away (and the walk to the station through the market never tires). The Victoria Line will then take you to Victoria in just nine minutes and King’s Cross St. Pancras in 19 minutes, and since it’s the start of the line you’ll usually get a seat as well. There's also a huge selection of buses from central Brixton to take you into town or around South London.
