There are buses which can take you directly to Clapham Junction, Brixton, Peckham, Crystal Palace and London Victoria to name but a few destinations.
There is a large Sainsbury's supermarket a 6 minute walk in Brixton,  or there are both the smaller Tesco and Sainsburys smaller stores located in Herne Hill.
