1 bedroom self-contained flat on large Kempenaar barge on permanent moorings at Tower Bridge.

Wofrari is a Dutch barge retired from service a year ago, we had her shortened to 33m and brought over from Holland in May. She's a beamy boat at 6.9m wide, which means she's roomier than the average barge.

The Captain's Quarters was renovated over the summer, so has brand new appliances - washing machine, fridge, oven, conduction hob, shower.. She was freshly painted, tiled and has new carpets. There is a double bedroom, separate bathroom, and large kitchen/lounge/diner. 

The quarters are well-insulated and have central heating, so it's a lovely warm flat. As the Captain's quarters sit high, there are river views from every window. There is a large deck space on the roof of the flat, with views straight over the river to Tower Bridge. This deck is reserved for the use of the tenants of the Captain's quarters.

Tower Bridge moorings is a unique place to live because it is made up of a series of beautiful floating gardens - it's a little piece of paradise right in the heart of the city. The entrance to the moorings is through a locked gate, so it is very secure and private.

The owners live in a self-contained crew quarters at the other end of the boat. Both flats are completely separate, with a huge hold separating the two areas, so there is no chance of any issues with noise or lack of privacy.

Central heating is run on diesel (included), the rent also includes council tax and water. The only additional cost is electricity (mains shore supply)

(For those not familiar with boat life, barges are much bigger than narrow boats. A permanent moorings means we have electricity and water supply, and do not need to move the boat.)
