The area:

Westfield is the nearest village – it has the best butcher in Sussex, a lively Church, great pub, village shop and a strong community. The station for trains to London is Battle (15 minutes in the car) and the trains run to Charing Cross and Euston. The local town of Rye is famous for its writers and has charming, cobbled streets. The property is 5 miles from bohemian Hastings - the haunt of artists and location of the Hastings Contemporary gallery. Rye is best for visiting old smugglers’ pubs and Hasting for the freshest fish and chips you have ever tasted. I don’t have to tell you why Battle is famous.  

The location:

A working farm, with a small hamlet of three rented properties and three owned homes. The access to the farm is a long bumpy farm track - not suitable for sports cars! It is a quiet environment perfect for writers/creatives and people who love the outdoors. You might be thinking about a move to the country and want to rent while you find the right property. The maisonette is fully furnished, but we can be flexible as to what you want to use … for example you will probably want the curtains in the sitting room as the window is seriously large.

On this first floor you will find the two bathrooms (both with showers over the bath) and the major double bedroom; it has polished wooden floor, bookcases and a wonderful wood burning stove for romantic evenings!   Perfect space for a couple.

Up more stairs to the three bedrooms in the attic. Two large double rooms and one single bedroom. Brilliant for guests/children or work-from-home spaces.

There is a large garden area available for growing flowers or vegetables or sitting in the evening sunshine and it has lovely views over the fields and farm with sheep and lambs frolicking around.
