Westfield is the nearest village – it has the best butcher in Sussex, a lively Church, great pub, village shop and a strong community. The station for trains to London is Battle (15 minutes in the car) and the trains run to Charing Cross and Euston. The local town of Rye is famous for its writers and has charming, cobbled streets. The property is 5 miles from bohemian Hastings - the haunt of artists and location of the Hastings Contemporary gallery. Rye is best for visiting old smugglers’ pubs and Hasting for the freshest fish and chips you have ever tasted. I don’t have to tell you why Battle is famous.
