It is situated between the river Thames and Royal Greenwich Park, along and within which sit a number of historically and architecturally significant buildings. These include the Sir Christopher Wren design Royal Observatory, where time begins and the 0 degree meridian line is drawn, you can straddle the Eastern and Western hemispheres of the world! There is the birthplace of Henry VIII - now known as the Queens House and the Wren designed Royal Naval College. There are dozens of pubs and restaurants along the river and in the village itself. Some are part of well known brand chains, others are wonderfully independent. The famous Greenwich covered market is open on weekends and there is an additional vintage market at weekends. You can walk or cycle to the O2 along the Thames or the other way to London Bridge if you don't want to drive or take a bus/taxi. The park is beautiful with far reaching and magnificent views of London including the Shard, Canary Wharf, BT Tower, The Gherkin, the Walkie Talkie, and St Pauls Cathedral. You will love Greenwich, it is a little paradise within the hustle and bustle of London. On the train you can get into Charing Cross Station for the West End in 15 minutes from Maze Hill train station. There is a convenience store and a garage right round the corner from the flat if you need to top up on basics or get fuel.
Parking can be either on the road outside the flat on a paid meter or in a choice of two car parks, both of which require payment. Access by train is via Maze Hill train station approx an 8 minute walk from the flat, or the Jubilee Line tube station at North Greenwich approx a 10 minute taxi/bus ride away, or about a 30 minute walk.
