Room in a Shared House, St. Peters Place, CT1

Short version:

A large double bedroom, furnished.

All bills included.

Living with 33F professional, who works nights, and a fluffy ginger 3 legged cat.

Opposite westgate gardens, less than 5 mins walk to Canterbury West station.

Long version:

A large double bedroom with lots of storage space and a sink (but not en-suite). Room has a double bed and built in cupboards and draws, and a built in dressing table or desk. There is a radiator, and 6 plug sockets in the room. (Plug sockets are in 3 locations so easy to plug stuff in anywhere. Currently there’s also a microwave and kettle in the room but I can remove these if you don’t want them!

Bills included.

Council tax band C. Near Westgate, so very central and 5 mins walk to Canterbury west station. No parking, but you can apply for local permits if you have a car.

I work nights, so looking for someone who can be understanding of that schedule 😅 ideally looking for another young professional, but also open to mature students (eg, phd).  

No couples.

Open to short term stays too.

For longer tenants, most important thing to me is that we can get on well!

Outside of work I like (lefty) politics, art and I’m learning Italian.

I have a cat, who is very friendly- so you must be okay with/ like cats! For this reason, no other pets, although would consider a pet that would stay in a cage or tank in your room (but not free roaming unsupervised or in the rest of the house).

There’s a double entranceway at the front, and the only really strict house rule is that only one of these doors is ever opened at a time to prevent him getting out the front!

The room is a converted attic room, on the 2nd floor, the 1st floor is a large living room with a section dedicated as my office space, but otherwise free for you to use too.

My room, the kitchen and the bathroom are all on the ground floor, so most of the time your room is a bit further away and quite private.

Wifi router is in the living room so gets good signal in the room, and there’s a wifi extender in the shed so that the wifi also reaches to the garden 🛜

Large kitchen/ diner, which you’re welcome to use and can accomodate cupboard and fridge space.

There is currently no washing machine, but there are nearby laundrettes.

Bathroom has bath with overhead shower (great water pressure!).

Paved smallish garden, but nice and sunny for sitting outside in the summer.

I don’t smoke but my (non live in) partner does when he visits - outside only. Would also ask if you’re a smoker that you only smoke outside.
