Walk out the Gazebo front door and the River Thames towpath is accessible through the communal gardens (Email Removed After Let) the towpath along to Richmond Bridge and enjoy the popular Tide Tables Café whilst people and boat watching or one of the many riverside pubs. Alternatively enjoy your morning coffee or a sunset drink on hill in the communal garden with breath-taking views of the River Thames, Stroll up to Richmond High Street (3-5 min walk) , shop at some of the best shops you’ll find anywhere, enjoy the abundance of restaurants, cafes, theatre and two movie theatres.
Richmond always has something on. It is home to the largest royal park in London, Richmond Park, a rambling heath famous for Kew Gardens and filled with deer. For those who prefer indoor pursuits, Richmond Theatre often features shows that will either go on to the West End, or West End shows that are going on to tour the country. If you fancy sipping a pint by the river, the pubs in Richmond are for you.

Getting around

Richmond is a walking city. However, Richmond lies 15 miles southwest of central London yet a fast train from London Waterloo will bring you here in 15 minutes. Richmond is on the District (green ) line with the London Underground and a robust bus system. You can even go by river boat Kingston or Hampton Court – Turks Landing is 3 minutes from the Gazebo.
Richmond is very convenient to London’s major airports. Heathrow (approximately 25 minutes by car, 50 minutes via underground ) Gatwick via train is approximately 50 minutes.

Other Things to Note

The Gazebo is a small two storey building within the grounds of Queensbury House. It is likely that it was constructed as a garden building to the original Queensbury Villa, which was constructed as a riverside mansion by the Earl of Cholmondley in 1708. The building was probably originally a gazebo, used for outdoor entertaining and to admire the view of the river. It was converted into a very small residence in 1990 and has recently had a new kitchen installed, repainted & reappointed. It is an ideal rental for a single or two persons.
