The local Broadhurst Park hosts events through the year, including a bonfire and firework display. It is approx. 15 minutes’ walk from Boggart Hole Clough, a large park classified as ancient woodland. The park is made up of wooded cloughs, or valleys, and also hosts events throughout the year.

Transport:
There are direct roads into the centre of the city, as well as numerous connections to other parts of the UK. The M60 has a link to the M62 motorway for Leeds and Liverpool, and the M6, which can take you to Preston or Birmingham, with many other places on the way. The public transport system has recently gone green, with brand new Metrolink trams connecting Moston Station to Manchester Victoria. Moston is well served by buses too, with 10 services straight into the city centre of Manchester. Buses also go directly to surrounding areas such as Pendleton, Middleton, Failsworth, Oldham, Chadderton and Cheetham Hill.

Schools:
Ashley Lane is well served by a wide choice of schools, with two local academies which have been rated 'good' by OFSTED and of the local primary schools, two rated as 'outstanding' and five as 'good'.  The Manchester College Moston Campus offers courses for school leavers, adults, apprentices and university-level students.
