1 Bed Flat, Aliwal Road, SW11
Overview
Bedrooms: 1 | Bathrooms: 1 |
Max Tenants: 2 | Location: London |
Description
Much of the flat including all the lounge and bedroom has the original elaborate Victorian cornicing and candelabra lights.
The flat comprises:
• Front living room facing cul-de-sac street (so very quiet for the area). Pale sunshine yellow walls and ochre / white fire place with gas fire on fake coals, varnished wooden floors. Comfy sofa, study table and office chair. TV (with an existing TalkTalk contract), Hi-Fi, mirror over fireplace, wireless internet.
• Bedroom with double bed (including storage in shelves under bed), fixed shelves, chest of drawers, wardrobe, window onto garden, dark blue, soft carpet.
• Modern kitchen including dishwasher, washing machine, tumble-drier. Gas central heating, hot water and large hob. Electric oven and grill. White walls, lots of mirrors and lighting, wooden table (can sit 4 comfortably, 6 at a pinch). Wooden surfaces.
• Bathroom redone five years ago – includes bath and shower.
• L-shaped patio garden. Not huge, but has table and chairs and you can have a BBQ easily.
• Basement – I have left some of my stuff there, but you can use the remainder for your storage.
The area:
I love it myself. 5 mins to the Junction, with trains to Waterloo and Victoria every couple of minutes, as well as to most destinations in South London and even trains up to Watford. Aliwal Road is cut off to traffic from St. John’s Road, so there’s next to no noise, but there is on-street parking. 5 mins walk one way is Clapham Common, 10 mins the other way is Wandsworth Common. Northcote Road and Battersea Rise are full of bars and restaurants and there’s a weekend market on Northcote Road every weekend, my favourite parts being the Franco-Italian olive and bread stalls. Huge Asda, plus Tesco, Waitrose, M&S all within 2 mins on foot, plus a big Debenhams and many high street shops within spitting distance, as is the library and Battersea Arts Centre. You can walk to Westminster across Battersea Park in one hour. Friendly neighbours. Cheapest council tax in the country (Wandsworth Council) but very reliable services.
The letting arrangement
I have been living in the flat myself but I have now bought another property. I have let the flat twice before when I lived abroad and my former tenants are happy to provide references. The let will be on the basis of an Assured Short Term Tenancy but I am flexible over the contract dates - my starting point is a year with a six month break, but I am open to other longer contracts (not shorter). I am a private landlord – this is my only property that I let. Note that the rent does not include any bills.
Please send me a message with your e-mail address and phone number and I'll get back to you to arrange a viewing.
