Wiveliscombe is a charming small town set in beautiful countryside, and remarkably well-resourced for its size. There is a good selection of local shops,including convenience stores, a post office, renowned butcher, cafes, as well as furniture, clothing and gift shops, a garden centre, and a country pursuits store. There are also weekend markets and events at the local Community Centre.

There are two pubs in Wiveliscombe, as well as the two cafes, and two breweries, as well as an Indian restaurant, Chinese takeaway and a fish and chip shop.

The town has a library, a doctor's surgery, veterinary practise and two schools: Wiveliscombe primary school and Kingsmead, the secondary school, as well as a nursery. The recreation ground has an outdoor heated swimming pool, as well as tennis, rugby, cricket and football clubs, and a gym. There is even a local radio station, based yards from the flat (but you won’t hear it).

Beautiful countryside is also on Wiveliscombe's doorstep, with the Brendon Hills, Exmoor and the Quantocks within easy reach.
