LemonStreet Apartments at Number Seventy-Nine

LemonStreet Apartments are an eclectic collection of boutique‘home-from-home’ apartments nestled right in the heart of Truro city centre. Theprestigious 'Lemon Street was once described by poet John Betjeman as ‘thefinest Georgian street this side of Bath’, and it is indeed a splendid streetrich in character and history.

TheGrade II listed townhouse behind the beautiful warm stone façade at No. 79 wasbuilt around 1809. It has played many different roles since starting lifeas a smart private residence, but was in a sorry state as a block of soulless, empty offices when new life was breathed into it over 200 years later. Now, this beautiful building proudly houses six apartments, each uniquelydesigned in homage to the different eras, people, and industries that have madeTruro the thriving capital of Cornwall that it is today. Most featuretheir own private outdoor space; all are comfortable, individual, thoughtfullydesigned, well-equipped and ready to welcome you in.

The William Lemon

This grade-II listed haven in the heart ofCornwall’s capital perhaps best reflects the bourgeois origins of No. 79. Classic, restful, luxurious; reminiscent of the times when William Lemon, created a Baronet in 1774, brought this fine and celebrated street intobeing. Often regarded as one of the finest provincial streets in Britain, it has beenthe principal residential area of Truro for over a century. Though manyof the buildings on Lower Lemon Street have become offices and consulting roomsover the years, The William Lemon Apartment offers you the rare opportunity toreside in one of these stunning spaces, once homes to wealthy merchants, philanthropists, mine owners, surgeons and MPs.

The William Lemon, at the front of the first floor, impresses with acommunal space over 30 feet long, and an opulent feel. The kitchen istraditional and well-equipped, with an eclectic mix of antique and morecontemporary pieces throughout the dining and living space. A largeGeorgian window dominates the living area, flooding the sitting area with warmgolden light on clear bright days. It offers an outlook onto thebeautiful Bath stone townhouses, and a great opportunity for a spot of peoplewatching. The comfortable velvet sofa also doubles as an extra doublebed, perfect if you have children or friends wishing to join you.

The shower room is bijou, well-designed andtraditional, complete with a marble floor and decorative high-leveltoilet.

The generous bedroom offers a comfortable silvervelvet king size bed and ample storage within the full height triple wardrobe. The large Georgian window overlooking the charming street scene makesthis another wonderfully light and welcoming space.
