A couple more minutes walk takes you to Bow Road Station, Zone 2 on the District and Hammersmith lines. Mile End, one stop away, offers the Central line as well.
If you feel like taking the bus, the number 25 goes from Bow Road to the heart of the City and Oxford Street; or for Victoria take the 8 (and prepare to be patient).
The London City Airport is a twenty minute taxi ride away or approximately thirty minutes on the DLR; Stansted is thirty minutes drive up the M11.

Further threading through inner East London from Kingsland Road to Limehouse Basin, the Regent's Canal offers a handy path for walkers and cyclists that links up key points of interest including the Geffrye Museum, Broadway Market, Victoria Park and Mile End.
