Description
SMITHFIELD: 1 Bed Flat. “I love living here!”
A great one bed apartment in a modern conversion of a beautiful Queen Anne Revival building next to Smithfield Market.
Flooded withsunlight, smart, simply decorated and perfectly located.
This lovely first-floor apartment has a simple entrance hall that connects all the rooms of this well proportioned flat. Off the hall comes amodern bathroom, a double bedroom with built-in wardrobe, plain carpeting andtwo big sash windows …and then the main sitting-dinning area with an open-plan, fitted kitchen, also with the big double sash windows.
The kitchen has integrated appliances and separately, there’s a washing machine discretely tucked away in a cupboard. It’s all fully furnished with a nice comfy sofa anda farmhouse-style kitchen table, simple lighting and a pair of silk curtains. There’s polished wood laminate flooring throughout the hallway and living area.
The wholeplace is sunnily south facing with views over the West Smithfield Rotunda Garden: a pretty garden that’s a lot quieter now than when William Wallace was hung there in 1305.
The locationis absolutely brilliant. You’re surrounded by bars and restaurants: places like Polpo, St John, Gaucho, Smiths, Bird… Tons of great pubs and Fabric over in Charterhouse Street. Your very own local is the Butcher’s Hook and Cleaver: an award winning pub on yourdoorstep.
The building itself is an old converted Midland Bank, so it’s pretty impressive, but insideall is modern: more like a hotel than an apartment block. Access is via a secure entrance, with areception area and a lift if you’re feeling particularly lazy.
Connections are effortless. Three tube stations are veryclose by: an easy 5 minutes stroll to Farringdon, plus St Paul’s and Barbican. You can walk to anywhere inthe City or West End and it’s very close to Barts Hospital and the Law Courts.
I think that’s most of it. Just excuse the photos – my current tenant isn’t the most tidy girl in the world. But she’s been here for the best part of twoyears and loved it.
You’ll need to pay all your own bills and a deposit. And good references are needed too. But it’s a private landlord so no agency fees. Drop me a line to come andsee it and I’ll be happy to show you round.
