Beautiful, period silkweavers/artists cottage in very quiet location just off Brick Lane in Spitalfields/Shoreditch

Our flat has its own entrance at street level and is laid out over varying levels. We have a recently fitted bathroom, plus kitchen, cosy living/dining area, an office/dressing room and a double loft bedroom with skylight and sloping ceiling that runs the length of the flat as the main bedroom. There are natural wooden floors in the living room and big sash windows that let in plenty of light and lots of period features that add to its unique character. We have been here since April 2011.

Our place would not be suitable for anyone with mobility issues as the bedroom is in the attic/loft, the stairs are quite steep and the ceiling is not high enough to stand up in. Think of it more as a cosy sleeping platform! Our lovely cottage is situated on a very quiet residential street in the heart of trendy Shoreditch.

This quirky building is one of only a few remaining terraces of historic homes from the 1800's. The scale of the buildings and leafy gardens of neighbouring properties help create a village feel. When inside, it's hard to believe you are so close to the city centre! We have a city farm and small park 2 minutes away as well as the markets of Brick Lane, Spitalfields and Columbia Road within walking distance. The location is great for sightseeing and you won't need a car with excellent transport links and lots of shops, galleries, restaurants and bars nearby. Brick Lane, Shoreditch, Hoxton, and Liverpool Street (with direct train links to Stansted Airport) are all only a few minutes walk away. Perfect for sampling London's vibrant urban culture. 

Shoreditch is the beating heart of creative London. Brick Lane is less than a five minute walk. The City and its incredible architecture is on the doorstep too as is Spitalfields, the most authentic 17th Century area left in London. Food, live music, culture, fun and even a city farm with animals are waiting for you! Whitechapel, Aldgate East, Liverpool Street tubes are about 10mins walk, as is Shoreditch High Street Overground. Very good bus service from Whitechapel Road.
