Finally, many people understandably have concerns about the inherent safety of tower blocks following the tragic fire at Grenfell Tower. The initial fire was started by a faulty fridge-freezer. The Fire Brigade put that fire out but the fire had spread to the retro-fitted cladding of the building which was partly composed of highly flammable polyethylene foam insulation material. The investigation into the fire continues. Sparkford House, the tower block my flat is in, is built of concrete and brick and has not had such cladding fitted.
