Description
This is a lovely, light-filled apartment in East London N16. You’ll see from the pictures that the second bedroom boasts built in bunk-beds and so the flat will especially suit families with young children.
The apartment is well appointed throughout, with central heating in all rooms and a gas-combi boiler meaning instant hot water. Appliances include a dishwasher and washing machine (both new in 2017), large upright fridge freezer, gas hob and electric oven, toaster, kettle, food mixer and all the pots, pans crockery and utensils a household would need.
There is a modern galley style bathroom with bath and shower combined, a laundry cupboard and generous sink and cabinet. The master bedroom enjoys a large double bed and a huge built in wardrobe, as well as copious bookshelves (with optional books included), and a dressing table. It overlooks the lovely garden to the rear of the apartment and so, even though the street is of the quiet suburban variety, it enjoys even more of the peace and quiet that the rest of the property possesses.
The apartment comes fully furnished and decorated with lots of lovely features such as a floating bookshelf, a kitsch chandelier, vintage Afghani wicker chairs, many interesting and beautiful paintings, an assortment of dining room chairs, a small comfortable sofa and a large dining room table which will comfortably seat up to ten people. There is also an abundance of house plants and other decorative accoutrements to make the flat feel like a real home. For entertainment there is a fast broadband connection, as well as a stereo system and projector, and a digital radio. There is also an inkjet printer. Please be advised that there is no TV licence, if you bring a TV you will be responsible for getting your own UK TV licence.
Of course if you are coming with your own nik-knacks, ornaments and books etc. then we can place a lot of the smaller items into storage, unfortunately we can’t make space for larger items of furniture such as beds as I’m afraid.
Entrance is through a sole use front door – not a shared entrance as is often the case in London period conversions – and through the shared-use lovely and secluded garden at the rear of the property.
Hopefully the photos will speak for themselves, but one final feature to draw your attention to is the beautiful, hexagonal shaped living room, with large sash windows opening from three aspects onto a leafy canopy with which the room is surrounded, giving a real sense of living in a bright, light-filled tree-top eerie. A lovely peaceful place to sit with each other or with a good book and feel rested after the hubbub of busy London days.
If the flat is beautiful and full of character then so too is the neighbourhood. Stoke Newington (or ‘Stokey’ to its inhabitants) is a young vibrant locale. Surrounded by green parks and the open spaces of the Lea Valley nature reserve, it’s obvious to see why it’s one of the capital’s most sort out ‘villages’ for raising a family in. The main shopping street is a riot of boutique stores selling artisan baked goods, rich roasted coffee, designer goods and clothes, second hand shops, pop-ups and a diversity of people reflecting its east London confluence of cultures.
There is so much to do all year round, Stokey is in the London Borough of Hackney which is to London what Notting Hill was in the 70s,and Camden Town in the 80s and 90s. Our neighbourhood is about 15 minutes by overland train from Liverpool Street in Central London and about 30 minutes from Soho and the West End. But why travel when you’ve so many local attractions to choose from such as nature reserves, ice rink, markets, farmer's market, canal walks, independent cinema, theatre, art galleries, street food eateries… and if that weren’t enough you’re also right on the doorstop of the new Olympic park (10 minute cycle-ride), with its wild water canoeing centre, velodrome, BMX park, Olympic swimming pool and Premier League football team. Anyway I could go on and on - this is London after all - but suffice to say there’s plenty to do and enjoy in the neighbourhood and its near surrounds throughout all the seasons.
