Description
The design is a combination of gorgeous art deco features complimented with modern amenities and luxury. The renovation focused on creating a gorgeous luxury apartment.
Room by room.
Kitchen: A modern soft closing kitchen with molded worktop and a full suite of Siemens appliances (induction hob, oven, fridge freezer, microwave, clothes washer and dryer, dishwasher).
Living Room and Dining Area: This is open plan with the kitchen. There is a glass dining table with four leather chairs, two lovely suede sofas, and a trunk style coffee table. We've got the creature comforts covered with a TV, a Blue-ray DVD player, and a digital TV receiver.
Bedroom: Super King sized bed with a luxury hotel grade pocket sprung mattress. Side tables and bedside lamps. The lamps can be switched/dimmed from the wall switches or switched on/off individually. There is ample storage - one entire bedroom wall (around 2.5 metres long) is exclusively floor to ceiling wardrobes. In addition, the bed is a full storage bed. The mattress raises up to reveal a cavernous store beneath.
Living Room Sofa Bed: For visitors the sofa is a luxury king sized sofa bed. The sofa mattress is UK king size with a high quality pocket sprung construction. Easy to unfold and comfortable to sleep on.
Bathroom: Decorated in fine porcelain tiles with underfloor heating for comfort. There is a full sized combined bath and rainfall shower, a walnut vanity with basin, heated (non-steam) mirror, wall cabinet and a soft close toilet.
The building: The apartment is on the first floor [second floor if you're american!]. The building itself is modern and well maintained. Although architecturally unexciting it is a lovely place to live. And your view is the Georgian buildings opposite!
The street: The location is incredibly central - seconds from Trafalgar Square and Charing Cross. A short walk to Covent Garden, Westminster, St James's Park, Green Park, Piccadilly, as well as most west end Theatres. Even though the location is so central it's relatively quiet. It's a one way street so doesn't attract many vehicles. Neither does it offer a particularly beneficial walking route so doesn't have high levels of pedestrian traffic. The street has had many famous residents - as the commemorative blue plaques attest - including Moby Dick's author Herman Melville and USA Founding Father Benjamin Franklin.
Noise: Even though the street is relatively quiet it is still in super central London! We therefore installed secondary acoustic glazing (in addition to the double glazing already installed) to ensure a good nights sleep. There is acoustic glazing the bedroom window and the living room street facing windows.
Floor: The apartment is on the first floor.
Local Facilities: There are good local facilities. There's a 24 hour co-op supermarket in the Strand (opposite the entrance to Craven Street) as well as a larger Tesco Supermarket in Covent Garden. There are multiple Starbucks, Paul and other coffee shops nearby - the nearest being a Paul patisserie and coffee shop on the Strand. Just on the right as you exit Craven Street. There a nearby gyms - the nearest is The Gym on Northumberland Avenue (just 3 minutes walk away).
