Leyton itself has a number of great pubs, cafes and restaurants walking distance (e.g. The Northcote, Leyton Technical, La Petite Robe Rose, Sighburi Thai café, and the new Leyton Star pub is opening up at the end of Downsell Road in a few weeks). It’s also a brilliant place to explore the rest of East London from. Hackney Wick is just a short cycle ride or 25 minute walk away over the Queen Elizabeth Park, and Wanstead flats are about a 15 minute walk in the other direction (and you can do a ‘green walk’ or cycle all the way from there to Epping Forest). Victoria Park is also accessible via a cycle or walk across the Queen Elizabeth Park and the River Lea, so it’s a great place enjoy the best outside spaces that London has to offer.
